How to go about getting into a Public Job

Hi all,

I hope somebody can answer a question for me. When looking at can you apply directly for a position or do you have to apply for test first.

Basically what is the best way to get into the public sector? (Clerical).

You apply to the Public Appointments Service and they will organise it from there.
