How to get into HR Mangement?

Im wondering if anyone could tell me where to get information on HR mangement courses? I can only seem to find info on the dublin courses and seen as I live in kilkenny they are not an option. Also is there any other courses I could do that would suit. I would be hoping to do a evening/part-time course so I could also work full-time.

There are a couple of courses in the college in the IFSC, yes I know it's Dublin, but some were on a Saturday only and quite a lot of people used to travel up and down. I did one at night a few years ago. They may have since changed the format, it went from a 1 year cert to a degree.

Would I recommend it? Em....don't know. I don't work in HR and don't want, I was managing people at the time and wanted some of the legal frame work. It can be difficult to get in to, experience seems to be the key - Catch 22, I know.

Thank you for replies. Im going to go to the open day at IFSC. A saturday course in dublin would be workable. Its a pity I dont live in dublin though becuase there are so many options! The fees are a little high though but the credit union should be able to give me a loan.
 
Carlow IT and Athlone IT also (I think) do a basic part time HR management course which is recognised by CIPD.
 

I started a HDip in HR in UCC a couple of years ago and left after 3 months. It was a two-year course but there were modules which, in my humble opinion, were fillers simply to stretch it out, a complete waste. It could easily have been covered in a year if they'd cut out the rubbish but that would have halved the revenue. The more interesting modules (employment law, etc.) were in second year, surprise surprise. If you don't sign up for CIPD accreditation (expensive) you will have little or no chance of getting into HR. Additionally, the CIPD website doesn't advertise HR jobs; their magazine does and this is only sent to you after you pay the CIPD annual subscription.
I rang a few agencies in Cork and they said it's a very very difficult area to get into and even with a BA or higher you'd be looking at starting at admin level.

Second that, its very hard to get into, no guarantee the degree would get you anywhere.
If you are good at sales you could try getting a job in a recruitment company and use that as a spring board into hr.
