Hi,

The stainless steel flue from our boiler (boiler house kerosene type) is loose at one of the joints. Any idea what type adhesive should be used to repair this?

Many Thanks.

3CC.

I saw some heat resistant adhesive tapes in Woodies. That may be suitable do the job.

Use a stainless steel self tapping screw(s)

These will not seal the flue but only hold them together. Aluminium tape is the best option, but put a number of layers on it for strength. It can be bought quite cheaply in most hardware/plumber's merchants.

Hmmm, I'm one of those people who types out every single word in a text message. Might stretch to a :) on occasion, that is, if the mood takes me.

Many thanks for all the replies. I have both s/s screws and alu tape so I'll put both on to be sure to be sure...
