How to find out who own a certain house?

We have a wall at the bottom of our garden and fences around. We were approached by one neighbour about making it all walls and we would split the cost. We agreed to this saying we wouldn't have a problem with it. How ever the family on the other side of us since day one have always said that they own the house, so we approached them with the same suggestion which they agreed to.

We found out through a slip of tongue from them that they have a Landlord, so i dont think they can actually agree for this to go ahead.

They obviously told us they owned the house for a reason, maybe they felt embarassed that they were renting or recieving welfare i dont know. And i dont want to embarrass them further by saying we know they dont own the house. For all we know they could of asked the owner and he has agreed but i'd like to find out 100% before we go ahead with this. As i dont want to do this then have to take the wall back down because he has complained.

yeah i noticed you had to pay and register.

I understand they may not want to share for whatever reasons, but when it comes to taking down a fence and putting up a wall they shouldn't agree when it's not their property. The reason i've not said anything to them its cause it's obviously they dont want to share with anyone.

Then give the land registry a shout.
They're reasonable enough in there and easy to deal with.
All you're looking for the name and contact details of the person who owns the folio of the house in question. You may need to provide your folio in order to help them to zone in on the house.

Easiest to actually go into them if possible as that way you can point on the digital map. They will probably even give you a print out of the details (might cost 3 euro or something like that)
