How To Change Broker

Hi,
I have an execution only Davy online account.....with recent Aer lingus IPO... now i wish to change the broker from davy to sharewatch while retianing my shares ? is it possible and how ?
at present shares are in nominee account..can i ask for certificates and then just close account upon certificate recieval and then deposit same after selling with sharewatch ?
please advice anyone .... thanks in advance
 
Most stockbrokers should have some procedures that customers transferring to/from another broker can follow. Ask Davy and/or Sharewatch. I've only done this with US online brokers though and it worked well. If you convert your shareholding from nominee to certificates then there will most likely be some charges so if you are happy with nominee and want to minimise charges see if you can transfer without doing this.
 
i am a customer of sharewatch and wish to change to keytrade to invest in ETFs because of lower charges.do Do I have to sell my existing shares and incur CGT or can I just transfer shares and account over smoothly.
