Given the publication of annual accounts for Irish Nationwide how safe is my money in Irish Nationwide?
 
Your money is guaranteed by the Irish Government.

So it is as safe as deposits in other financial institutions with the government guarantee.

would a similiar guarantee from the IMF or the ECB be more relevant ??

I cant see how there is anything to worry about why do people keep asking these questions? No offence intended.
 
I see David Mcwillaims is saying the guarantee should be recended when NAMA is set up ?

I have fixed deposit in BOI for a year based on the guarantee, will it be safe then ?
 
The current guarantee will remain in place until sep 2010. There is speculation that it will be extended but there has been no confirmation yet. Does your deposit mature before Sep 2010? if yes then it is guaranteed.
 
Are deposits holders in Irish Nationwide treated different from bondholders under the guarantee scheme?
