How much to pay to remove small Radiator

We are going to turn our box room into a walkin wardrobe and we will need to remove the small radiator, how much should we expect to pay to have it blanked off and removed?

Optimistic on the hour I would say.

Do you want the pipes to be capped under the floor?

Why remove the rad? Wardrobes that size need heat. Think airing cupboard.

the reason for it to be removed, is because we are kncking a door way from the main bedroom into the box room and the rad is in the way.

Draining down a system and re-filling can often run into all sorts of problems and is not always a one hour job. Also bear in mind inhibitor chemicals to be added again and as D.J. says do you ant the pipes capped under the floor?

Things to consider:

It is still a large enough space, you do not want to create cold spots in house. It would be normal to have a rad in an area that size. It can always be moved and then turned off , if no need of it.

I would not be so quick in knocking out a door as you are losing a bedroom, If you have no interest in resale value then it could work well. Otherwise I would leave as is and just have a slightly longer walk.

i think you need a rad in walk in wardrobe to keep the clothes fresh as otherwise cold/damp.. suggest you might consider puchasing a lower profile rad and install under whatever shelving you are installing in the room.

If you are putting in door, then sounds like you have no choice but to cap under the floor or re-route if new rad in different location. Is it timber or concrete floor?

would it be expensive to get another rad ran in elsewhere in the room. it does get quite cold in there during the winter so i guess it would be required to make the room more comfortable. its a timber floor.

best so then to put a rad in the room

normally with timber floor the piping below the floor is flexible and provided there is a location where some floor boards can be easily removed, then it should be relatively straight forward to re-route the piping under the floor. Without knowing all the contrainst within the room/house, then I can only guess approx what it would cost to relocate the existing rad, but think would be approx 150-200euro.
