How much to budget for new Kitchen?

Hi all, am looking to do an extension to back of house to give a bigger kitchen and dining area. Have a good price on extension build so just trying to work out how much a new fitted kitchen (without appliances) might cost. Have seen the other threads recommending places like Ikea, Cash and Carry kitchens, etc. But how much should I be getting for if I want to get something nice? Not top of range but not a cheap chipboard kitchen either. Is €5k a reasonable figure? The kitchen would be medium to large sized, with an Island in middle. And what should I be looking out for to keep price reasonable? Eg is Granite much more expensive? What else to look out for e.g handles, etc? Where is best to start looking at all the variables!

Hi,

This thread might be useful but I definitely feel it would be worth your while to run the search option and have a quick read through the headings. I'm sure you will find a few that will give you tips etc. I think there was a thread some time back that asked people if they were doing their kitchen again what would they include, and, as far as I can remember it was quite good.
