How Much Does Topsoil Cost?

Next year I'm thinking of doing a bit of "grow your own." Veg, that is! When I was young, my mother had a wonderful garden in which she grew every type of vegetable under the sun. I loved working the garden and would love to get back to it again.

Does anyone know how much, per ton, topsoil costs? And where is the best place to get same?
 
Cheapest might be if someone in your area/housing estate is doing some work on their house and need to get rid of soil for foundations etc.

Thanks, TP. Good idea but there isn't much housing work going on around Cork at the moment, unfortunately!
 
look in local papers and ask for it SCREENED ie bi rocks taken out, get plenty, rake and rotivate, check with landscape gardners, etc
