How much do recruitment agencies charge?

Hi, I am currently looking to recruit and am considering using an agency. I do not want to interview lots of people myself so don't want to just place an ad on jobs.ie and let the CVs come rolling in. Does anyone have any experience with them? How much do they charge for a perminent placement?

they charge 10 -15% of salary of new employee!!

Many agencies will look for 20%. Don't pay that.

There are, i believe, 300 recruitment agencies in Ireland, so the market is very competitive.

It usually depends upon the level that you are recruiting at...

It can go up to 30% PLUS...

It can be as low as 10%...the best I've seen so far...

It will also depend upon the level of service and support you request or that they provide...

As stated aboved...there is a huge variation...both in price and in service..

You need to interview a couple of agencies before you decide and you need to know what you want..

As i said before i really don't want to interview people myself unless they fit the profile. Thanks for the help

I use to do this so have experience. Commercial agencies will charge as low as 7% (in England, where I worked) but this is usually for a job such as admin assistant or secretary. If I were you I would advertise the job myself through specialist websites and interview myself. Even if you use an agency you will probably have to do the final interview; after all, who knows your business better than you? I wouldnt trust an agency as they could employ someone you may think is awful.
