How much €'s should my insurance drop after 1yr

hi,

my car insurance is up for renewel soon. i am driving 1year 1st prov. I have had no accidents. I have also applied for my test (still waiting) Anyways who im with now have quoted me €300 less than last year. I thought it would have dropped alot more. My sister got her's for 1300. Anyone know if this is right or should i shop around?

If you're still on a provisional I'd be shocked if it dropped by much.

I know of some females whos car insurance dropped by 30% after the first year of driving on a provisional licence. Roughly equivalent males got no reduction or a slight increase!

I think age, sex, occupation and location have a bearing on any reduction.

yep, definitely shop around, i just renewed min this week - changed from Axa who were cheapest last year to Royal Sun & Alliance & saved over €300 & also moved from Third Party F&T to Comprehensive. Not a bad saving!

You should always shop around anyway, no matter how good a deal you think you are getting from your current insurer.
