Hi , is there a standard minimum amount of time to be in a job before you can keep the employer's pension contribution if you leave or does it depend on the employer?
thanks.

Statutory period is two years membership of the scheme - including transferred in vesting time where applicable.

Some pensions may allow you to keep them before that but it may be unusual. I was a member of one once that allowed those transferring in any occupational fund from a previous employment (regardless of the accumulated vesting time involved) to automatically secure the employer's contributions.

Clubman's replies above assume that you are in an Occupational Pension Scheme. If your employer contributes to a PRSA, you get to keep the employer's contribution immediately.
