How flexible are builders

Hoping to close on a house purchase in June, we have decided on wooden floors all round except for the kitchen. We know where we will get the floors and have a list of fitters, but I was hoping to have this wooden floor put down before the official moving date. The alternative is to bridge between the houses which I am reluctant to do and was wondering of other peoples experiences in relation to builders letting external supplier into a property to complete work before the close date?

If you approach them directly, they can be flexible- and even more so if you can prove insurance cover for the third parties and goods will be in place. Really depends on the individual- but no harm in asking.
