How do I find folio number?

I am trying to check the progress of a replacement land certificate request on a property i am buying and was told by the land registry office that i need the folio number.

Anyone know how I might get my hands on a property folio number without contacting my solicitor?

When I rang the land registry office 2 weeks ago, I just had to give my name & county & they were able to tell me my own folio number.

Do you know the name of the landlord selling the house ? Although since you've already been onto them, it sounds like they won't give you someone else's folio number.
