Have been reading through the Household Benefits scheme to see if a cohabitant on Disability Allowance and under 66 would be entitled to this on the basis of living alone with an excepted person.

  • A qualified adult (your spouse/civil partner/cohabitant is considered a qualified adult if you are receiving an allowance for him/her with your payment or if he or she earns less than €310, including income from a social welfare payment)
From the above quote it would seem that they would qualify as the other cohabitant only has €208 from a CE Scheme.

As a cohabitant is considered a QA then they don't have to be subject to the means test.

Both been means tested under DA/JSA anyway, do the means test disregard levels still apply e.g. €50k DA
& €20k JSA when applying for the Household Benefits scheme.
