Hi, can anyone recommend a reliable company to ship from Ontario Canada to Dublin, we intend to move back to Ireland having been living in Ontario for many years.

I don't have specific companies to suggest; but would recommend that you do your sums carefully.

It's often not worth shipping furniture, the size & style might well not fit your home here; electrical goods are sized differently, clothing and soft furnishings will be replaced over time.

If you do decide to ship, groupage is usually cheaper; but it could take up to 3 months to get your stuff.

Take a look here.
A 20ft container should cost around €1500-$2000. A 40ft will cost about €2000-€3000.

There isn't really a single firm doing it end to end.

A Canadian firm will pack a container for you which will go on a ship or two to Dublin Port.

An Irish firm will pick it up at this end and unload to an Irish residence.

You can get a Canadian or Irish firm to quote for the whole job, but one will simply sub-contract the other for the local part.

In Ireland I had a good experience with Oman.

Groupage not really feasible due to customs and security on intercontinental jobs.

You are looking at a 20ft or 40ft container with your own furniture and effects.
