I have bought an old house with an alarm. Person has gone into home and nobody knows the alarm code. It is an ADT alarm, but they have nobody based in Dublin and have rang them several times about getting an engineer, but they tell to ring back tomorrow. Anyone know how to get a new number for this alarm without having to spend a fortune replacing the whole system?

Hi mona lisa. Thats a very Strange response from ADT. The Largest Alarm Company in the country & they dont have an engineer in your area?
Anyway.

Unless its an old system you shouldn't have to spend a fortune replacing it.
An engineers call out would be between €70-€100
But lets see if we can do it for nothing first.
What make is it? (name or model number should be on the keypad)
How old would the system be ?
Is the system disarmed at the moment?

We are not living in the house at the moment, so I will go down this morning and check details of the alarm, it doesn't look too old. My builder had someone look at it and whatever he did the light outside is flashing, although with no actual alarm going off. ADT are a joke. You ring an Irish number and every time I have rung I get what seems like an English call centre, who have never heard of Drumcondra and tell me they will try and locate an engineer in Dublin. It is the centre of Dublin, you would think they would have someone around. I will post details of model and make today and it would be great to get it resolved.
