homestudying while on benefits

hi I am a stay at home mother on benefits at the moment and am keen to begin working but for the time being I am in the process of saving to begin a Diploma course. Would I be eligible to recieve any help with the course fee from the social welfare, like a grant or something?? thanks.

What type of benefits are you on? Would you qualify for a Back To Education payment? See www.welfare.ie

SW don't pay educational grants or fees as their business is mainly social welfare. However, if you are on BTE scheme, you can get a once off grant to help re books, etc. as part of that.

i am on one parent family allowance, i have a one year old so home study seems a better option for me
