We are currently extending our home, which is registered in my wife's name, with the mortgage in both my wife's name and my own name.
My wife is currently a stay at home mother, whilst I am the sole earner as a self employed contractor. We are jointly assessed for the purposes of tax, with my wife transferring her credits to myself.
My question is, can be benefit from the Home Renovation Scheme, with the home been in my wife's name, yet myself been the only tax payer in the household, ie are the tax credits transferable?
Reading the revenue site, it appears to imply that the tax credits are not transferable between members of family paying for work, however it does not implicitly refer to a married couple.
Thanks in advance for you help.
