My brother is buying a house from the council. I will be looking around for house insurance quotes soon, but the problem is how do I know how much the house will cost to rebuild. It is a two bedroomed terraced house in South Dublin City.
Try [broken link removed] or get a surveyor to value it. If it's a second hand property (and perhaps even if it's new) he should be getting a detailed structural survey done anyway and the surveyor will probably give a reinstatement value while s/he's at it. The mortgage lender (if any) will most likely need a valuation survey.
