Home EV charger

Do you think your zappi will last long enough to see a material change in all this? I've had cheap night electricity as long as I've had an EV (last 6 years) every single zappi that I am aware of in my neighborhood has been replaced due to failure..... In that time period, my basic eo charger is still working away.

At the end of the day it's a fancy outdoor plug if you have a special attachment to yours good for you as long as my car gets charged reliably I am happy!

@Blackrock1

I think we all know that there have been "temporary" incentives put in place, to help promote green energy, the use of solar panels, EVs etc. Over time, the incentives are eroded and ultimately disappear.... I see your FID rate as something that will erode, over time.

Yes, the point about the fancy plug may be true...

Let's see how I do with my Zappi. It's circa 6mths old, at the time of this post, so feel free to diary it and we'll check in, periodically, to see how mine is doing etc

I hope your zappi works perfectly and you never have an issue, genuinely.

The point is this zappis have been pushed for years as solar integrated chargers and if you have solar you need a zappi, as of yet diverting solar to your car hasn't made financial sense if you are on a sensible electricity tariff, that may change in the future but that's the current state of play.

All of the other chargers I linked now offer solar integration anyway so I can't make a solid argument why one would pay materially more for an already over priced outdoor plug.

Finally i tend need to charge the car once a week, having to be plugged in all the time to divert solar is a bit of a pain in the backside I'd have thought but each to their own.
