Is it 20 or 21 days holiday leave for full time employee's?

This from the CI website:

"There are three different ways of calculating your annual leave entitlement:

Based on the employee's working hours during what is called the leave year, which runs from April to March. An employee who has worked at least 1,365 hours in the leave year (that is, an average working week of 26.25 hours) is entitled to the maximum of four weeks' annual leave. Many employers use the calendar year (January-December) instead of the official leave year to calculate entitlement
By allowing 1/3 of a working week for each calendar month in which the employee has worked at least 117 hours
8% of the hours worked in the leave year, subject to a maximum of 4 weeks
An employee may use whichever of these methods gives the greater entitlement."

An employee who has worked for at least 8 months is entitled to an unbroken period of 2 weeks' annual leave.

it varies from job to job, I guess ? In mine we get 20 days + 9 bank holidays

There are statutory minimum entitlements as outlined above but an employee may be entitled to more on a personal contractual basis.

As a full time employee you are entitled to 4 working weeks not 20 days - simply, if you work 4 days a week you get 16 days holidays - but you are away from work for 4 weeks. You are entitled to 20 days if you work 5 days per week.

Legally you are entitled to a minimum of 20 days annual leave and 9 public holidays; that is if you are a full time emloyee.

If you are not a full time emloyee, you are entitled to 8 hours off for each 100 hours you work but this is capped at 160 hours (20 days).

The bottom line is that you are only entitled to 20 days off. After that it is to your employer's discretion. If you are lucky enough to be working in public service, you will get plenty more off on top of that.

Not totally correct - see here:

Employees who qualify will be entitled to either the public holiday off as paid leave or one of the following alternatives:

• A paid day off within a month of the public holiday
• An additional day of annual leave
• An additional day's pay
• The nearest church holiday to the public holiday as a paid day off

The last one came as a surprise to me! What church are they referring to I wonder...

Just to clarify again, your legal entitlement as a full time employee is to 4 working weeks. This is only 20 days if you work 5 days per week.
