I am currently on Jobseeker's Benefit but am not having any luck in finding a job - not even getting replies to applications. Notwithstanding this my husband is on Illness Benefit with a serious heart condition and wont be in any position to return to work as it seems surgery is on the agenda for him now and he is not recovering as well as was hoped.
I contacted the Community Welfare Officer who suggested that I should go on Carer's Allowance and so will apply but we are struggling now, we have a 3 year old child and I am wondering if we can get help with the mortgage as well? Just wondering if we would be entitled to some help with the mortgage?. I don't want to have hubby worrying too much and wondering what my options could be.
