Currently I work for an employer where I don't have a pension, so I started up a personal pension plan with QuinnLife.
I got a letter recently from the trustees of my previous employers pension scheme saying that it is been wound up and requesting that I give them the details of my current pension so that they can transfer my funds from the old pension into it.
When I gave them details of the QuinnLife pension, they got back to me and told me it could not be done for legal reasons as its not an occuptional pension.
They told me I would have to start a PRSA or else buy a "buy out bond".
Is this info correct ?
