Help to buy Scheme

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone who might have experience of this could help me with a query regarding the help to buy scheme which I couldn't find online. I am hoping to buy a property with my partner so would co-purchase.

While co-purchasing, can I individually apply to the help to buy scheme, I would reach the maximum amount based on my tax paid and would be the primary contributor in any case? (I am aware that partner could not apply separately)

Its mainly in terms of ease of application I am hoping to do this but worried about potential issues later. Any advice or experience that could be shared would be really appreciated. Thanks

I would not have thought so (emphasis is mine):

1. Application Stage The first-time purchaser application will allow you to apply as an individual or as a group. A group is made up of one or more persons, including couples in a marriage or civil partnership. All members of your group must be first-time purchasers. All parties to the contract must be included in the application.
