Help
I got a Samsung DVD Player/Recorder at the weekend. Its either a DVD sr270m OR dvd sr275m model
Im having problems tuning in the TV channels on the DVD machine so as to be able to record. I using the Auto Preset feature to try to get the tv channels tuned into the dvd recorder but the scanning isnt finding any channels, even with the auto-preset set to All to pick up digitial and analog and the frequency ranges set to the lowest minimal range and the highest maximum range
Im not a techie by any stretch of imagination so am probably doing something very stupid here but need help as drove myself demented with this last night... Please help
So, here is the deal
I have plugged in the DVD machine and i have connected the scart cable from the back of dvd machine to the back of the sky box. There is another scart cable going from back of the sky box to back of the tv. (TV is a LCD flat screen). The satelite dish cable is connecting into back of the tv
With this setup, I can play DVD's. Problem seems to arise when i try to setup dvd machine to record
The user gudes is telling me that 'Regardless of the type of connection chosen you must always connect the RF cable otherwise not picture will be visible on the screen when the DVD Recorder is switched off'. So i try to connect this cable
My 1st problem is that the cable that came with the dvd machine, they user guide says to 'remove the arierl or bnetwork niout cable from the television and conect this cable to the 75 aerial jack Ώ marked T on the rear of your DVD recorder
I did this
Next it says ' Plug the RF cable supplied into the TV jack on your dvd recorder' which i have done . This is a black coaxial cable 3c-2v 75 Ώ. I have done this
I then says ' Plug the other end of the RF cable into the connector previously
used for the aerial on the television'. I have tried to do this but it doesnt look like this cable will fit into the ariel slot on back of TV and i dont want to try to force it in case i damage ariel slot at back of TV
Do i need to connect this cable. Am i doing something wrong here. Should this cable fit or as it an LCD flat screen do i need another cable type and if so what type of cable do i need
Do i need to be running a scart cable from the back of the TV to the back of the DVD player. Im assuming not given that product didnt come with one but then again maybe i do need one and they just dont come with them
There is a 2nd scart connection place on the TV. The 1st one is taken by the scart cable going from TV to the Sky box. . Like i said i not techie so dont understand scarts and how all this works. I wish they would write these manuals for people who are not techie
At this stage i have mass of cables and wires and dont know what goes where or how to get this working. The TV itself is working ok and i can pick up the satelite channels and the normal channels.
What are the steps i need to take to be able to setup DVD recorder so that i will be able to record both on the spot recoridng and timer recording
PLEASE HELP.........
