hi!, after having a few people over the other night, i realised that someone had spilled red wine on new cream porcelin tiles that has now stained!!!!!!!! aagh!!! I cant remove the stain with usual cleaning products and was wondering if anyone can offer some advice? Its discoloured the tile so is there anything I can do???!!!

Ya i tried bleach and other usual products that would be in the cupboard.
Im wondering will i be able to get it out because its porcelin tiles? It looks like its soaked in!!!

The "classic" remedy for removing red wine is, believe it or not, white wine.

When we were purchasing cream porclain tiles we took some samples and spilt beetroot juice, red wine and ink on them to see which ones cleaned easily. Unfortunately the dearest tiles were the only ones which wiped clean. I tried various cleaners on the other tiles to no avail. You could see the colour in the tile. We went ahead and purchased the dear ones on that basis. No problems to date. Sorry I can't help.

White wine as previously mentioned. I have seen it perform miracles on Wedding Dresses when rubbed with an ice cube. Never seen it done to tiles though.

saw this on boards.ie

Just took a delivery of polished porcelain tiles from B&Q and noticed on the side of the boxes it says "these tiles should be sealed before and after grouting to prevent staining". I thought they were a finished product as they are a high gloss smooth finish. Anyone fitted these before and if so have you had to seal them?

maybe you didnt seal your tiles
