Help! Cartoon Network 'stuck'

Our NTL/UPC channel Cartoon Network has been 'frozen' for 4 days now. The new Ben 10 movie is being shown on Monday, and we have a HUGE Ben 10 fan in the house. NTL are sending out a technician on Tues, but I don't understand how it could be a problem at the house, surely it is a problem with the signal for that channel needing to be reset at whereever the transmitter thing is??? I have tried re-tuning the station on the TV is there anything else I can try to fix it before Monday....

Is this digital? Have you tried completely powering off/on the digital receiver altogether in case that is the problem? Have you tried Googling for known issues like this with your specific receiver make/model?

Not digital, it's analogue.
