Health Insurance Health insurance plan for baby

I am looking for a bit of advice as to whether it is worth adding our newborn to my health insurance policy or not.
Our health insurance provider is Irish Life. If anyone uses them and has had to do that, what would be the best plan you’d recommend for a healthy newborn?

In case you don't get many replies this reply is dated but may provide some general info from a previous knowledgeable AAM contributor.

Hopefully others here might be able to provide more up-to-date advice.

Some Irish Life plans offer free cover for a newborn until the next renewal.
I presume you have to contact them to find out and/or register the newborn?
In my opinion a healthy child does not need private health insurance.
Others may disagree.
