Having 2 bill pay phones/accounts at the same time?

Out of curiosity if you already on a O2 bill plan, but out of contract. Can you get a 2nd one as a new customer then cancel the first. Obviously you can't keep the same number. Why? because the new customer offers are better than the upgrades, and you may not even be eligible for an upgrade anyway. I'm guessing O2 won't let you do this. But wonder has anyone tried.

Fraid your right there o2 will automatically lock any phones already on the account into a new 12 month contract!

Ah that would end that idea so...

I can't see why you can't have 2 bill phones from the same company.
Obivoiusly you will need to set up a second account
