Have i paid to much PRSI?

Hi guys, just got a call from a mate who works in the public sector that she has been told that she has contributed too much in her PRSI payments over the years and they are to re-pay her over 500euro Has anyone else heard of this kind of overpayment? if so could anyone direct me to the relevant form to send in to the welfare, i think all she had to submit was this particular form with her PPS number on it?

You could calculate what you should have paid each year, and then compare that with what you did pay, to see if you overpaid.

Revenue collects PRSI not SW so any refund should be applied for through Revenue. I'd imagine

if they are looking for bank account details to give the refund, be sure your friend is careful about giving them out. There was a scam a number of years ago about it. Make sure it is Revenue/Social Welfare who phoned.
