I am just wondering has anyone actually been granted a trade down negative equity mortgage by PTSB or any other lender for that matter. I am 2 years down the road in the MARP process and still finding it very difficult to deal with the bank. I requested a trade down negative equity mortage which is listed as an option now in their mortgage arrears booklet but was informed by phone that I was not eligible due to the fact that you have to pass the same criteria as applying for a new mortgage, so basically someone in negative equity with an unsustainable mortgage has to have 10% of the new home purchase price. Seems strange to be fair.
