Has any one over 57 found new employment

Unfortunetly like a lot of people I have been made redundant for the first time in over 40 years ( not a bad record I suppose).Has anyone successfully got re employed at this age or should I just consider myself retired now.Any constructive comments welcome.

A good friend was made redundant at age 57. Was out of work for 8 months for the first time in his life. Got a job which lasted for about 3 years. Was then offerred another job which lasted till he was 65. Was then asked to return to return to the same job part-time with very flexible hours and still works there at age 69.

My Dad had an interview at 58. He got the job and worked there until formal retirement. He's now a sort of consults on jobs occasionally. About 3-4 months a year, no more than a 3 day week ever. A nice balance that he enjoys.
