Happy Birthday Askaboutmoney

Happy birthday AAM & Congratulations Brendan !!!

This Site has been so illustrative as to how much I know so little about with regards to financial matters!

But at least it gives me a solid means and opportunity to steadily learn some more.

......Someday it may even make me rich (Crosses fingers)

Are you buying, if so I might possibly make it, as spending money in Doheny and Nesbitt's is an unnecessary expense unless the tab is on you. Of course you could have us all round your place and we could bring our own tipple which would make the whole endeavour very beneficial cost wise.

Just like to add my congratulations to Brendan and his team of moderators. (I mention the moderators because on occasion I have strayed into an off-side position and been, rightly, reminded of the rules of the game!!).

This is an excellent site and provides so much useful information and the occasional entertainment/belly laugh as an added bonus. I have little doubt that AAM has helped very many people to arrange their finances in a smarter way - the combined extent of which is probably incalculable but certainly a lot.

In addition, there has been a valuable social aspect to AAM. If we take, as just one example, the various tracker issues - people had a ready network of others who were similarly impacted and with whom they could share experiences and information, etc. This obviously greatly helped to reduce the information imbalance between customer and the banks.

Back in 1999, there were a lot of ideas about how to harness the power of the internet - many fell by the wayside, the good ones survived and thrived. AAM is a good one!

If Bronte comes for that drink, I'll buy her one!
