Hap or ras

I bought a house with a sitting tenant with a ras lease until end of year .Good tenant and they would like to stay on in property .Is it possible to get a new lease under ras or is it all hap nowadays

Did the vendor provide you with the RAS contract details? What did your solicitor advice on the transfer of those contract terms on purchase?

From Citizen's Advice:

It is intended that the Housing Assistance Payment (HAP) will eventually replace RAS. However, you cannot transfer from RAS to HAP.

I would think you could renew. I am in the process of renewing a RAS contract with SDCC
