H. Dip Interview - Trinity

Hi

I applied for the H. Dip in higher education in Trinity & through PAC for UCD & Maynooth - no word on my PAC application - but I did get called for an interview for Trinity.

Has anyone done this interview or would anyone have any advice or tips?

Do you know how many interviewers there are? Or how long the interview takes or the format?

Do you have experience working with children?

Why do you want to be a teacher, what motivates you. Try to have a genuine interest in working with children, from interviews i ve been involved in I can spot a fake a mile off.

Do you have a love for your subject can you show this.

What is your knowledge of how secondary schools work, ie, VEC, secondary schools, boards of management.

What are the key issues in education at the moment, special ed, the pedagogical use of ICT in education, extra curricular issues, syllabus changes.

How will education change into the 21Century, again the need for ICT, student collaboration, constructivist learning principals.

Some issues you might think about. I am not involved in these interviews and I have never done one.
