COULD I ask a really quick question.

Moved into a house with MANKY bathrooms.

need to replace everything. sales on in tubs and tiles at the moment. Do i need a plumber and a tiler to replace everything or does a tiler replace the shower, sink toilet etc?

thanks in advance

Strip out everything, removal of ware done by plumber. Tile removal you can do your self. You may need to re-sheet partation walls as chunks of them will come away with tiles. If they are block walls there will be no problem. you could also tile over tiles, tiler will advice.

Plumber fits bath and shower tray before tiling and adjusts any pipe work, e.g new towel rail etc. Tiler tiles and then plumber returns to fit toilet,WHB, shower, and shower doors and radiator/towel warmer.

Make sure you use water-resistant board (eg. plasterboard, marine ply) if re-sheeting walls around bath or shower enclosure.

you need to get in a professional who will use all of the right materials such as marine ply water proof sealants etc.

Depends on the tiler/plumber, we had a guy in Carlow who did the whole lot,

Did you think of "Shower Paneling" as an alternative - no grouting, easy to keep clean. I don't know where they are sold but stayed in a guesthouse lately & they had it - I thought it was a great idea (tiling can get very grubby & are difficult to clean).. Just a thought!
