Gutters / Plastering

We are ready to plaster the outside of our new build. The guy supplying the gutters / facia etc has put on the J trim but has said it is better to put on facia and gutters when the plastering is finished but the plasterer is saying that it is better to have the gutters up before plastering as if it rains the water will fall on the plaster and ruin it.

Can anybody give me advice on this.

it should only take a day max 2 to put up your gutters. they will get dirty if you put them up 1st and I can't see the plasterers being picky about cleaning every bit off the fascia boards

i'm a plasterer myself and it all depends on the type of finish you are putting on let me know the finish and i'll give you an honest opinion

Thanks for reply. The house is plastered and we didn't put on the facia etc. It all worked out ok.
