Its not a bad area really but like all areas of Dublin now the houses are quite expensive.
Would not like to be too near the park as have heard stories about drinking sessions there.
One work colleague who rented a house there many years ago told me that they were glad to get away from the area because of the no. of times their cars were broken into. Know others living there who have said the exact opposite so guess its just down to bad luck really.
The traffic on the Greenhills Rd. is terrible most times of the day which slows down the buses. Actually the traffic in the whole area is quite a nightmare if you don't do the short cuts trick. If you could get to the Luas it would be a better option but its quite a distance especially if you were considering walking.
Suppose The Square/Kilnamanagh shopping centre are your nearest options for weekly shop.
There are some quite good schools in the area both primary and seconary but you would have to be selective.
