my husband has been offered an amazing job but he is not working at the moment as he had a few problems with his previous employer.
he has been out of work for 3 months now and we have used all our savings during this time.

the job he has been offered will not start till the 1st dec ( its a fab job way better than he thought he would get). He really wants to take it as it is an amazing opportunity but we need him to be earning money. my question is if he accepts this position would it be ok if he got some temping work to get us to the 1 dec. he is worried how this will look to the further employer.

thanks

Firstly, how would the future employer know? I would have thought that what he works at before starting with the new employer (i.e. in this 3 mth interim) would not be a problem, or a concern of future employer. People have mortgages, rent and general living expenses and employers would understand that...after all, they have offered him the job already, based on his existing skills & experience which won't be diminished by 3 mth temp work.

he is worried how this will look to the further employer.
He can supply the new employer with a Certificate of tax credits (obtainable from the tax office) instead of his P45.

I don't think that would be a problem.
No employer is going to question doing a bit of temping while he waits to start his new job. He has to live!

As long as the work he does does not compromise him in his new job - e.g. working for a competitor, there should be no problem.

A new employer would think it very moral for someone to work no matter what the job to feed one's family, there are people in Ireland that I know are doctors in their own Countries and are working his as cleaner's, I would think these people are better than most, what do you think
