eh, as far as i know theres no grants, nor is there any planned... especially from councils...
i think your friend may be getting the new energy conservation building regulations mixed up with 'grants'.
since 1st july this year and house applied fo rplanning needs o comply with Part L 2007 'dwellings'...
this basically means that it needs to provide 10 kw/y/m2 heating energy or 4 kw/yr/m2 electrical energy from renewable sources.
also the dwellingneeds to be 40% more carbon efficient than the previous regulations
there are other regs also.
theres no gramts for this, these are minimum building regulations and the dwelling MUST comply in order to be certified.
