I have the opportunity next week of a friend coming down with an empty artic from belfast on three different trips, would it be worth my while shopping around up there for doors and sanitary ware and load him up, and what shops should i be looking at?

Did you get anything from the North after Jollyman? I was thinking of buying a lot of materials for my house build up there, generally cheaper and the FX rate is good at the moment.

One example: I bought an InSinkerator 65 undersink Waste Disposal unit, it cost me a total of 258 EURO (including shipping from the UK to NI). I was quoted a minimum of 500 EURO at home. Nuff said!

Hi Nobrian im heading up north on Saturday to get internal doors skirting and architrave, maybe some flooring also if it fits. That will be the first of my purchases up there.

Hi
Just wondering if you got the internal doors and stuff up the North in the end?

look up plank co in newtonards for v high quality fooring (i bought european smoked oak) also, bespoke joinery in derry called mark five for door, skirting (bespoke)

then of course you have your b&q and all for off-the-shelf stuff.

meatmonger,

just wondering what price you paid for the wooden floors at the plank company? How did it compare to southern prices?

Hi Jollyman,

Did you get your internal doors up North yet would you recommend anywhere in particular. Was planning on taking a trip up there myself to buy some doors, skirting board, stove, sanitary ware and what ever else I can get up there. Can anyone who has already purchased similar be able to post recommended shops here? All info would be great?

Hi guys ya i got all my internal oak doors there in FR catchcart in Enniskillen, €52 each. I got all my door frame skirting board and architrave from cranwood in co down and got my tiles and timber flooring from irwins in castleblaney, all roughly half the price of stuff down here. They all havewebsites on the net.
