Health Insurance Good family plan

Hi, our policy is due for renewal 25/7/15. We are with glohealth better saver,2 adults and 3 kids-4,6 and 8. Premium increased by 50 euro/month so looking for alternatives. Vhi have half price kids from August 1st- can I break cover for the week without penalties to avail of better deal, are there any better options with other providers, have spent last 2 hours on hia website and am more confused than when I started! Any suggestions/advice greatly appreciated

Yes, you can lapse cover for the week without penalties to avail of half price kids with VHI from 1 August 2015.

Plans worth considering with VHI as follows;
Adult Option; Plan PMI 37 13; price 1011pa; good hospital cover, excess 100, no outpatient cover.
Child Option; One Plan Choice; price 124 per child, good hospital cover, excess 125, no outpatient cover.
Total family price; 1011 + 1011 + (124x3) = 2394

As a second option, one adult and 3 children choose above option with VHI and the second adult go with Laya Healthcare plan
Flex 250 Explore; 804pa or ( 828pa includes 3% charge if paying by installments).
Total Family price; 1011 + 372 + 828 = 2211

Just make sure to specify with VHI, that you want to change renewal date to 1st August 2015.
