Anyone having problems opening mails in Gmail lately? It seems particularly bad today.

Yes I'm having that problem. It seems to be very slow loading and only allows meo get in if I click the 'view as basic html' option.

nope, login, sends, receives and searches all flying along.

The docs are running a bit slow over the last week and Im noticing buggy behaviour happening with the spreadsheets that seems temporary for that particular session but all good apart from that.

I couldn't get in yesterday or today and the webpage seem to get stuck loading with that poxy progress bar.

Interestingly I had this problem with Firefox but when I viewed it in explorer it opened fine.

I still have the same recurring problem - I can login fine, see new mails in the Inbox etc. but when I try to open a new mail (or an old mail for that matter) 9 times out of 10 it doesn't open. Instead it gives that "oops... the system was unable to perform you operation (error code 007) " message instead. Strange!

Presumably some local PC or network issue so? I'd review the "clean PC" sticky thread if I was you.

Thanks to all who confirmed they were NOT having any problems, suggesting it was unique to my PC. From Gmail Help, I cleared my browser cache & history and it seems to have improved things no end :)

I have noticed its been particularly sluggish to log in, since they redesigned it. I have a fast net connection and it still struggles sometimes.

I've also tried it from different locations and its not as fast loading up as it used be.

I use GMAIL as my email.

I have it set up that incoming mails are also re-directed to my work email address.

My work email address is probably full, as I have been off work for 4 months.

Recently I cannot seem to get the emails that other people send to me.

They seem, instead, to somehow end up going to my work email address.

Which is very strange.

Any ideas, as to whom I can contact to get this sorted ?

Thanks

I say this is your answer, you don't have to double post ;)

When you enabled forwarding within, did you set the second setting to 'delete Gmail's copy' or 'archive Gmail's copy' rather than 'keep Gmail's copy in the inbox'?

Guys, what browser are you using? If you're using IE, shame on you! :)

Tech site TechWeb reports:
Mozilla VP of engineering Mike Schroepfer claims that Firefox 3 is 9.3x faster than Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 and 2.7x faster than Firefox 2 in terms of JavaScript performance. In terms of Gmail message load time, he claims Firefox 3 is 6.8x faster than IE7 and 3.8x faster than Firefox 2. And he says Firefox 3 beats Apple's Safari, which is also faster than Firefox 2.
