A mate of mine wants me to say that he is staying at my gaff for social welfare reasons,he wants to go to college next year and wont get allowances if he stays at home address,am I liable if I write a letter saying he is staying with me,can I be done for anything?
 
Apart from lying to Social Welfare you mean and being an accessory to fraud?
 
Dont be such a fool...
What you should do is contact Welfare and tell them that this person approached you asking that you provide a bogus address for him.
