What is the situation regarding taxation when you receive a gift of circa eighty thousand euro towards house purchase? My Partner wants to gift it to our one year old son , to be taken into account re maintenance, on the understanding that i would be investing it in a home, once we go our seperate ways- which is what we are doing in the next few months. Any advise? If I take the gift instead of my son, what are the tax implications?
