currently build a house, will have a sandstone porchy and would like to get a name plate/ plaque made to go above the door, does anyone know where i could look or try , i am in the mid west, area
I would suggest contacting a local company in your area which supplies headstones/memorials etc. They will have the sandblasting equipment to do the engraving and will be able to source the plaque you require in sandstone or whatever type stone you require. My local guy did a nameplate for my entrance wall recently.
I used Ebay. Found a company in the UK, I wrote the house name down when buying the sign. Picked out which one I wanted and they posted it directly to me. Worked out cheaper then getting it made locally.
If you look on Ebay for 'House Signs' you'll find companies that do it.
I just got a granite house sign made by a company called Marble Hart based in Nottingham in the UK.
The sign was 18" x 9" in black granite with silver lettering and it cost less than £70 including shipping to Cork.
I was able to select my own font for the lettering, they sent me a proof before manufacturing it and the whole process from initial order to delivery took 2 weeks.
I'm not linked to this company in any way but as the service was top quality and there's no similar online sign manufacturers in Ireland then I thought I'd share the details
