induction, as it only uses energy when the pot is on the hob, as it uses magnetic fields to detect pans so no wastage, and the heat control is great and very quick..instantaneous.
I have an induction for the last 2.5 years and was renting recently while our new house is being finished off and had an old ceramic hob...couldn't get over how slow they were..
Definitely induction! Its more energy efficient, safer and very quick. Gas may be slightly better for woks (not sure?) but unless you do a lot of stir frying I don't think it would be worth making room for a gas cylinder.
