What's a good guide price for replacing a gas boiler?

I'm replacing a (not worth fixing) Vokera Meteor S90 with a Ferolli Optimax HE 25 S. The guy who I had out trying to fix the Vokera has quoted me €1000 for the work. I have got 2 other quotes over the phone for €800 and €700 but neither of those was definate without seeing the system.

All of those figures seem hugely over the top to me, am I right in thinking that?
 
Seem OK to me the Ferolli Optimax HE 25 S comes in at about £600 in the UK, there seems to be a cheaper one with out a 'HE'. Add 4% VAT + Shipping + exchange rate + 150 for installing it = approx €1000
 
Just to add I got mine swapped during the summer and it cost 2k including the boiler.
I checked on heatmerchants and the retail price of the boiler was 1300 so say 700 for installation.
It did take the plumber a full day to do it even though it was going in the exact same place as the old boiler.
Pipes still had to be changed and new vent hole drilled etc.
Also they may have to flush the system and provide guarantee for their work.
 
The quotes I've got are for installation only!
I'm sourcing the boiler myself.
 
i just got my bolier done. i got a baxi which i researched and found to be the best. it would have cost 2100 for the replacement and labour but i had some other stuff done also so cost more.
 
installation cost is reasonable and do always remember cheapest is not always best. With your lower quotes ensure these guys are going to properly flush and protect your system when doing the replacement. Lots of guys don't and your boiler will suffer later down the line and lifespan will be reduced. Make sure you get a good recommended installer. And as for boilers some good deals available on vaillant boilers at the minute and in my humble opinion they are the rollsroice of he boilers with an excellent track record for reliability
