My gas Boiler is recently showing high pressure reading above 3 in the red zone.
I have reduced pressure by bleeding the rads only for the pressure to rise back up to above 3 again. Have done this several times but pressure keeps rising.
Pottertron is the boiler make ... the feed is closed so can understand why pressure keeps rising?
Hi ,
I had the same problem in January. Bleeding a rad would reduce the pressure but it would rise back up again within half an hour.
I called a gas service engineer and he suspected straight away that it was a 'pressure release / top up valve' located on a copper
pipe close to the hot water cylinder in the hot press. He said these have a tendency to seize up. He replaced it and the problem was solved.
With the system cold, if you bleed the system and lower the pressure to 1 bar, does it rise back up to 3 bar before you switch back on the heating or does it only rise back to 3 bar when the heating is back on for a while?
